Read on to learn how I went from wanting to be a jazz guitar superstar to leading NYC children's music artist (and Rock Star!)
My Story:
Flash back to a day not-too-long ago when I was hanging fliers to ‘drum’ up private music students.
No student bit, BUT I did get a call from Dorothy at Tic Tac Daycare. She asked me if I was interested in doing a music class for the kids … WHAT?!
Sounded kinda silly, but “Why not?!”
Before I knew it, I was doing music class at numerous daycare’s, performing at birthday parties, and releasing my own music!
I’m so glad I said “yes” because now I’m ALL IN with the fun and fulfilling world of kids music.
The dream of jazz stardom has faded away and today, I’m happy to bring high energy, kid cool music that even parents will think is rad!
Mr. Evan V fun facts:
My mom and dad were working musicians (it’s in the stars …..)
The ukulele was my first, and fav, instrument
I lived in Denver for one - very snowy - year to study Flamenco guitar.
Seeking warmer temps - I moved to LA to attend Musicians Institute.
After some jumping around, NYC became my home - and I’ve never looked back!
I graduated from SUNY Purchase with a bachelor’s in jazz guitar performance
I have training in TONS of music types: - Jazz, Rock, Flamenco, Classical, Pop, and even Rap!

What happens in Class?!
So happy you asked!
Jumping Jam’s classes are a mix of high energy rock n roll influenced music, with movement activities, and educational, interactive storytelling. I write a lot of my own songs but also mix in classic material that everyone knows. My goal is to inspire kids (and adults) to have fun, dance, move around, and help them learn about their surroundings. I use a few props like dance ribbons, rhythms sticks, and shakers to help facilitate the learning and the fun!
What’s up with the V?
My middle name is actually V! Yep, just the letter V! My dad thought the name Evan V would be a good stage name…lol! My Grandpa’s name was Vick so it’s also a nod to him. :)
